JES & Sons 2-Way is seeking a technical minded, energetic entry level candidate to begin their professional career as a Communication Systems Technician in a growing and respected 48 year old Indianapolis company.  Candidate must be a dependable, articulate individual who has a desire to learn technical concepts with professional composure and presentation, has a team oriented attitude, and strong multitasking and communication skills.

 

The basic tasks of a radio communication systems technician is to program, repair, implement and field support of land mobile radio hardware and softward systems, perform board level repairs, and perform planned maintenance on customer and company systems.  This list is not all inclusive and will include other duties appropriate to candidates growing skill set.  We will train you with the following skills:

 

• Kenwood/Icom/Tait brand analog and digita radio hardware and systems

• Radio system terms including VHF,UHF, 800Mhz, digital, analog, NXDN/P25, DMR, dBm, basic electronics

• Networking basics including TCP/IP, subnets, DNS, DHCP, Cat5e/6, Wi-Fi

• Proper use of industry equipment including communication monitors, VNA, SWR meters

• Provide technical sales support with staging, programming, and deployment of new projects

• Install and remove radio equipment including fixed site, remote site, vehicle mounted

• Perform in shop diagnosis and component level repair of equipment

• Provide technical services to end users including plain language support and training

FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, ETA GCT OR MCEI, FCIA, NABER, or equivalent industry certification is a plus.  Qualified individuals must have at least a high school diplome or equivalent and clean valid driver's license for the past 3 years.  JES & Sons 2-Way is a drug-free environment and Equal Opportunity Employer.
