Radio Video RF Communication System Technician

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $21-$37 per hour

Full job description:

JES and Sons 2-Way is seeking a technical minded, motivated candidate to begin their professional career as a communication systems technician with a growing, respected Indianapolis based company established in 1976. JES and Sons 2-Way is an owner operated business that specializes in supporting organizations of all sizes from small local businesses to major government and public safety agencies with communications.

The primary responsibilities of a radio communication systems technician include:

  • Program, repair, implement and field support of land mobile radio hardware and software systems
  • Perform board level repairs, perform planned maintenance on customer and company systems
  • Perform regular shop maintenance tasks around company shop and tower sites.

We provide training on the following skills:

  • Kenwood / Icom / Tait brand analog and digital radio hardware and software systems
  • Radio system terms (VHF, UHF, 800Mhz, digital, analog, NXDN / P25, DMR, dBm, basic electronics)
  • Networking basics including TCP/IP, subnets, DNS, DHCP, Cat5e/6, Wi-Fi
  • Proper use of industry equipment including communication service monitors, VNA, SWR meters
  • Providing technical sales support with staging, programming, and deployment of new projects
  • Installation and removal of radio equipment including fixed site, remote site, and vehicle mounted
  • Performing in shop diagnosis and component level repairs of equipment
  • Providing technical services to end users including plain language support and training

Qualifications:
FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, ETA GCT or MCEI, FCIA, NABER or equivalent industry certification is a plus. Qualified individuals must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent and valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record for the past 3 years. At least 2 years of technical college is preferred. All employees are required to complete a background check prior to hiring.

Outside Sales Account Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

PAY: $55,000.00-$85,00.00 per year

Job Overview

JES & Sons 2-Way is seeking a motivated and results-driven Account Executive to join our dynamic sales team. We are a growing, owner operated, radio communications dealer serving Indiana since 1976. Our product offerings include voice and data radio systems, 911 dispatch console solutions, in building cellular & public safety amplifiers, mobile video surveillance, equipment repair and maintenance, and FCC licensing. Our customers include local and state government, schools, hospitals, commercial and industrial businesses.

The ideal candidate for this role will be: responsible for driving business development efforts, managing client accounts, and fostering strong relationships with customers. This role requires a blend of technical sales expertise and exceptional communications skills to effectively analyze client needs and negotiate solutions that meet their requirements. We provide product training, pre-sales engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base.
  • Engage in warm calling to identify potential clients and generate new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals while ensuring compliance with company policies.

Experience​​​​​​

  • Proven experience in business development or outside sales account management, preferably in technology sales.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess client needs and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on building rapport with clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively and close sales deals successfully.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a strong sense of ownership over tasks and responsibilities.
